- Anouk Garnier surpassed the previous world record in rope climbing on Wednesday morning by ascending over 100 meters to the second floor of the Eiffel Tower.
- Equipped with a safety cord, the double obstacle course world champion began her climb in front of dozens of onlookers at one of Paris' most iconic landmarks.
- She reached the 100-meter mark after just 18 minutes of climbing, despite the initial estimate of 20 minutes.
- Garnier is now considering taking a brief break, given her packed schedule. Apart from returning to obstacle courses, she will be participating in carrying the Olympic flame in Marseille on May 9 before becoming an ambassador for the volunteer program of this year's Paris Olympics.

- As the 2024 Himalayan mountaineering season gets underway, Nepal is gearing up for another high-altitude project: removing tons of trash from Mount Everest.
- According to the Nepali army, which partners with the multinational brand Unilever for the cleanup initiative, a total of 110 tons of waste was collected between 2019, the program's inception, and 2023.
- Twelve military members, supported by 18 Sherpas, will arrive at Everest Base Camp on April 14 to kick off the cleanup.
- In addition to clearing an estimated 10 tons of garbage, the army aims to bring five bodies of climbers down from the mountain, as stated in a recent announcement.
