Starliner successfully launches, reaches a stable orbit [Updated]
Quick Glance: The Boeing Starliner spacecraft successfully docked with the International Space Station.
  • With no humans on board, Starliner's autonomous systems and Houston-based ground controllers led the vehicle through a carefully orchestrated series of maneuvers to gradually bring Starliner closer to the International Space Station (ISS) before docking.

  • Starliner launched on May 19, 2022, atop a human-rated United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket from Florida's Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, and spent its first hours in space performing a series of system demonstrations that allowed mission managers to confirm the spacecraft was healthy and capable of safe maneuvering.

  • "Starliner has proven safe, autonomous rendezvous and docking capability," Jim Chilton, senior vice president of Boeing Space and Launch, stated.
