- Since the release of ChatGPT in 2022, numerous artificial intelligence startups have started developing generative AI services for consumers and businesses, raising billions of dollars from venture capital firms and big tech companies in the process. There is now a growing demand on Wall Street for these companies to go public, with some of them reportedly considering it. According to Michael Harris, the global head of capital markets at NYSE, most pure-play AI-focused companies are still primarily financing themselves in the private markets, but there are a few that are at least exploring the process.
