- Elon Musk’s X announced on Tuesday the appointment of two new employees to oversee safety on the platform. Kylie McRoberts, an existing X employee, was promoted to head of safety. - X has faced a challenging advertising business in the past 18 months since Musk acquired the company formerly known as Twitter. Criticism has also been directed towards the safety of users on X during Musk’s tenure. Many members of vulnerable groups such as the LGBTQ community have described X under Musk as toxic, with harassment and bullying largely unchecked.
- McRoberts will oversee the global safety team, responsible for developing new safety features and maintaining safety policies. The role has historically garnered significant attention and debate.
- Cohen and two additional hires under him will ensure that customers and brands on X continue to have a safe advertising experience. X has not yet responded to an interview request for McRoberts and Cohen.
