Quick Glance: French airport renamed in honor of Queen Elizabeth II
- An airport in France is being renamed in honor of Queen Elizabeth.
- Officials in the town of Le Touquet say this is a recognition of its status as 'the most British of French resorts'.
- They had submitted their proposal to Buckingham Palace just six days after the Queen's death last September, with the intention of paying tribute to her 'extraordinary life'.
- While it currently does not offer scheduled flights to passengers - primarily being used by private jets - officials hope to be able to welcome tourist planes from abroad in the future.
