- Prosecutors claim that Earl, 20, conducted "fraudulent activities, research, and reconnaissance of targets," and attempted to "recruit individuals" to assist a foreign intelligence service. Court documents suggest that Earl is connected to the banned terrorist group, the Wagner Group.
- Earl was first arrested on Wednesday, April 10, and is among the first individuals to be charged under the new National Security Act 2023. The Leicestershire man was charged by Counter Terrorism officers on Friday, April 19, with aggravated arson, preparatory conduct, and aiding a foreign intelligence service. He has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at the Old Bailey on Friday, May 10, alongside the other four men.
